My investment return for year 2020

From September 2020 to December 2020,
the shares price of glove companies dropped a lot,
while shares price of companies from other industries rose.

As a result,
my investment return for year 2020 : ROA = 24.2%, ROE = 41.7%.

Below is the comparison of my investment portfolio at the start of year 2020 till now:

Start of year 2020:
1) HARTA (26%)
2) AEONCR (20%)
3) LPI (14%)
4) ALLIANZ (13%)
5) STMKB (11%)
6) AEON (8%)
7) NESTLE (6%)
8) PANAMY (2%)

Now:
1) AEONCR (20%)
2) HARTA (19%)
3) ALLIANZ (16%)
4) STMKB (14%)
5) ELKDESA (10%)
6) KAWAN (10%)
7) KOSSAN (5%)
8) TOPGLOV (5%)
9) LPI (1%)

My positive return were mostly contributed by the appreciation of shares price which I bought during the bear market at March and April,
of course glove companies contributed the majority of the profit.

I lost around 1/3 of my net worth during the bear market at March,
so now I can say that I finally earn back what I lost.

For example,
if I have 100K at the start of year 2020,
then I only left with 66K after the bear market.

From 66K back to 140K,
I had to earn 74K by investing 66K only,
which means that my return from the lowest point of shares market until now is around 112.1%.

Anyway,
My investment return for the past few years:
2011 : ROE = +28.0%
2012 : ROE = +32.8%
2013 : ROE = +15.0%, ROA = +13.3% (started using SMF)
2014 : ROE =  -12.0%, ROA =  - 8.0%
2015 : ROE = +21.6%, ROA = +13.3%
2016 : ROE = +38.0%, ROA = +22.2%
2017 : ROE = +40.5%, ROA = +24.9%
2018 : ROE = +16.0%, ROA = +13.3%
2019 : ROE =    -2.2% , ROA =   -3.2%
2020 : ROE = +41.7% ,ROA = +24.2%

If I have 1 million at the start of year 2011,
after 10 years of investment,
it will appreciate to 6.45 million.

Sadly,
I was an university student at year 2011,
I didn't even have 10k as my initial capital....

If without using SMF,
after 10 years it will grow into slightly above 4 million,
so I have to admit that SMF really helped me a lot.

As for my investment strategy for the future......................

For now,
the pandemic seems like nothing is changing,
even the vaccines are out,
but the virus will not disappear right away,
so my investment is still no changes as well.

Just that.......
everyone please think twice before going out to travel.

Everyone CUTI-CUTI MALAYSIA,
thus now COVID-COVID MALAYSIA~

Traveling is same like investing,

LAST THING....
I AM SORRY FOR ALL MY READERS WHO READ ENGLISH VERSION,
since I will stop translating my future articles into English.

For the past few months,
every time I feel like wanting to write something,
and thinking that after writing in Chinese version I still need to translate into English version,
I suddenly lost the interest of writing.

Making this blog as Chinese version + English version somehow became a burden for me,
so I decided to stop English version,
and fully focusing on Chinese version.

Again,
I am sorry for English version readers.

Everyone please take care and good bye.

Thanks for reading.

My investment return for 3rd quarter 2020

From June 2020 to September 2020,
the shares market was very drastic,
my investment return was sometimes high, sometimes low,
just like a never ending roller-coaster.

ANYWAY,
my investment return until 3rd quarter 2020 is ROA = 29.1%, ROE = 50.1%.

Below is the comparison of my investment portfolio at the start of year 2020 till now:

Start of year 2020:
1) HARTA (26%)
2) AEONCR (20%)
3) LPI (14%)
4) ALLIANZ (13%)
5) STMKB (11%)
6) AEON (8%)
7) NESTLE (6%)
8) PANAMY (2%)

Now:
1) AEONCR (22%)
2) HARTA (20%)
3) STMKB (12%)
4) ALLIANZ (11%)
5) ELKDESA (9%)
6) KAWAN (8%)
7) LPI (7%)
8) TOPGLOV (6%)
9) KOSSAN (5%)

My positive return were mostly contributed by the appreciation of shares price which I bought during the bear market at March and April,
of course glove companies contributed the majority of the profit.

I lost around 1/3 of my net worth during the bear market at March,
so now I can say that I finally earn back what I lost.

For example,
if I have 100K at the start of year 2020,
then I only left with 66K after the bear market.

From 66K back to 150K,
I had to earn 84K by investing 66K only,
which means that my return from the lowest point of shares market until now is around 127.3%.

Comparing my portfolio at the end of June and now,
my holding of AEONCR and HARTA shares increased,
while holding of KOSSAN shares decreased.

Well,
when shares price of glove companies rose too much last time,
I sold some of it,
especially I sold half of my KOSSAN shares and I used that money to buy more AEONCR shares.

Then share prices of glove companies dropped a lot,
so I also bought some HARTA shares.

After all these selling and buying,
I did earn a few extra thousand bucks,
but considering all the troublesome,
is it really worthy??

Anyway,
My investment return for the past few years:
2011 : ROE = +28.0%
2012 : ROE = +32.8%
2013 : ROE = +15.0%, ROA = +13.3% (started using SMF)
2014 : ROE =  -12.0%, ROA =  - 8.0%
2015 : ROE = +21.6%, ROA = +13.3%
2016 : ROE = +38.0%, ROA = +22.2%
2017 : ROE = +40.5%, ROA = +24.9%
2018 : ROE = +16.0%, ROA = +13.3%
2019 : ROE =    -2.2% , ROA =   -3.2%

As for my investment strategy for the future......................

For now,
the pandemic seems like nothing is changing,
so my investment is still no change as well.

Just that.......

My investment return for 1st half year 2020

During March 2020,

the bear market caused me to lose almost 1/3 of my net worth.

Thankfully the shares market bounced back later,
which enabled me to recover my losses and earned a peanut.

ANYWAY,
my investment return for 1st half year 2020 is ROA = 5.0%, ROE = 8.6%.

Below is the comparison of my investment portfolio at the start of year 2020 till now:

Start of year 2020:
1) HARTA (26%)
2) AEONCR (20%)
3) LPI (14%)
4) ALLIANZ (13%)
5) STMKB (11%)
6) AEON (8%)
7) NESTLE (6%)
8) PANAMY (2%)

Now:
1) HARTA (16%)
2) AEONCR (16%)
3) STMKB (15%)
4) ALLIANZ (14%)
5) KOSSAN (13%)
6) ELKDESA (11%)
7) KAWAN (9%)
8) Other (6%)

My return for the 1st half were mostly contributed by glove companies HARTA, KOSSAN and TOPGLOV,
the return could be higher but it was dragged down by other companies in my portfolio........

Maybe some might wonder that the shares price of glove companies rose so much,
but why is it my return is so low,
even lower than 10%.

Just like what I mentioned above,
I first lost 1/3 of my net worth,
and now only climbed back to the current positive return.

For example,
if I have 100K at the start of year 2020,
then I only left with 66K after the bear market.

Thanks to the glove companies,
I am able to be back to 108K.

From 66K back to 108K,
I had to earn 42K by investing 66K only,
which means that my return from the lowest point of shares market until now is around 63.6%.

Anyway,
My investment return for the past few years:

A lot of people are saying that the economic will become worse,
a lot of companies will release very ugly financial result during the financial report season at August,
a lot of people not willing to spend money,
a lot of people will not be able to pay back their loan from the financing companies,
a lot of people will not be able to continue paying their insurance,
the shares price of glove companies rose too much and is very dangerous now.

I am not GOD,
I do not know how will the future become,
but one thing I am sure,
I don't like my money to be a lazy pig by sleeping at the bank doing nothing.

Well,
a lot of investment gurus always say that CASH IS KING,
of course you can say that if you are very rich,
then even though you don't earn money from shares market,
just rely on the lazy money inside the bank you can live until the day you pass away.

I am not that rich,
I still need to swim at the sea which is called shares market to catch enough fish to become rich,
so I don't have the qualification to say what cash is king.

Also,
even though now swimming at shares market is dangerous,
and there is a possibility that we might get hurt,
but is also a good chance to accumulate experience.

I still not old,
so I will not let this chance of accumulating 10X experiences to slip away fro me,
even though I might get hurt.

Also,
looking at the companies I investing,
I think I will not become seriously injured which might cause my life.

Of course,
THIS IS MY INVESTMENT,
NOT YOURS.

I am not sure how much swimming experience you have,
maybe you have zero experience?

I am not sure whether when you have a slight injury,
you will cry like a baby,
or feel like the world is going to end.

I also scare that you like to push away your own responsibility,
like when you are injured,
you will blame other people, blame the investment gurus,
or blame the government.

ANYWAY,
investment is about doing own thinking,
making own decision,
and you take full responsibility of your decision.

Thanks for reading.

My investment return for 1st quarter year 2020

At 1st quarter of year 2020,
the corona virus spread through the whole world,
and caused a bear market.

As for me,
I am damaged by this bear market too.

My investment return for 1st quarter of year 2020: ROA = -16.1%, ROE = -27.6%,
which is the worst return of my investment life until now.

Below is the comparison of my investment portfolio at the start of year 2020 till now:

Start of year 2020:
1) HARTA (26%)
2) AEONCR (20%)
3) LPI (14%)
4) ALLIANZ (13%)
5) STMKB (11%)
6) AEON (8%)
7) NESTLE (6%)
8) PANAMY (2%)

Now:
1) HARTA(18%)
2) ALLIANZ (18%)
3) KOSSAN (17%)
4) AEONCR (14%)
5) AEON (10%)
6) STMKB (8%)
7) ELKDESA (6%)
8) Others (9%)

This time my negative return were contributed by most the companies in my portfolio,
including AEON which dropped from RM1.42 to RM1.13,
AEONCR from RM14.14 to RM8.40,
ALLIANZ from RM16.28 to RM12.48,
LPI from RM15.10 to RM11.60,
STMKB from RM5.70 to RM3.25.

Fortunately,
HARTA rose from RM5.48 to RM6.88,
if not my negative return will be more than 30%.

I was once very close to Margin Call during the sharp drop,
plus the rising cases in Malaysia due to Tabligh gathering,
my anxiety was at the maximum which caused me to sell a large portion of my shares,
and almost cleared my debt in SMF.

I started to buy back some of the shares since few days ago.

Anyway,
My investment return for the past few years:
2011 : ROE = +28.0%
2012 : ROE = +32.8%
2013 : ROE = +15.0%, ROA = +13.3% (started using SMF)
2014 : ROE =  -12.0%, ROA =  - 8.0%
2015 : ROE = +21.6%, ROA = +13.3%
2016 : ROE = +38.0%, ROA = +22.2%
2017 : ROE = +40.5%, ROA = +24.9%
2018 : ROE = +16.0%, ROA = +13.3%
2019 : ROE =    -2.2% , ROA =   -3.2%

Will I achieve the worst investment return for this year?
It all depends on the outcome of HUMAN VS COVID-19 war.

Investment is about doing own thinking, making own decision.

Thanks for reading.

I don't provide any buying/selling suggestion above,
please make your own investment decision and be responsible with it.

My investment return for year 2019

2019,
a year full with happiness and sadness almost come to an end,
this year,
my investment return: ROA is -2.2%, ROE is -3.2%.

Here I am again for getting a negative return after year 2014,
but somehow I don't feel too sad,
I will talk the reason later.

Below is the comparison of my investment portfolio at the start and end of year 2019:

Start of year 2019:
1) AEONCR (31%)
2) HARTA (21%)
3) LPI (17%)
4) PANAMY (12%)
5) PBBANK (8%)
6) AEON (7%)
7) NESTLE (4%)

End of year 2019:
1) HARTA (26%)
2) AEONCR (20%)
3) LPI (14%)
4) ALLIANZ (13%)
5) STMKB (11%)
6) AEON (8%)
7) NESTLE (6%)
8) PANAMY (2%)

This year my NEGATIVE investment return were mainly contributed by the below 3 companies:
LPI which dropped from RM15.74 until RM15.10, the return is -4.1%.
AEONCR which dropped from RM15.30 until RM14.14, the return is -8.2%.
HARTA which dropped from RM6.14 until RM5.48, the return is -10.8%.

The above mentioned companies already took up around 70% of my portfolio,
some more I am using SMF leverage and magnified my negative return,
I almost become like year 2014 to have a return of worse than -10%,
but luckily I did some buy and sell,
thus successfully reduced my negative return to -3.2%.

For the selling,
I sold some AEONCR at highest price RM16.70,
some LPI at highest price RM16.58,
some AEON at highest price RM1.76,
and I sold all PBBANK at RM24.66.

For the buying,
I bought some HARTA when it dropped until RM4.55.

At almost the end of year 2019,
I started to accumulate ALLIANZ between RM13.80 to RM14.84,
which brought me some good return as well~

Anyway,
My investment return for the past few years:
2011 : ROE = +28.0%
2012 : ROE = +32.8%
2013 : ROE = +15.0%, ROA = +13.3% (started using SMF)
2014 : ROE =  -12.0%, ROA =  - 8.0%
2015 : ROE = +21.6%, ROA = +13.3%
2016 : ROE = +38.0%, ROA = +22.2%
2017 : ROE = +40.5%, ROA = +24.9%
2018 : ROE = +16.0%, ROA = +13.3%
2019 : ROE =    -2.2% , ROA =   -3.2%

If I have 1 million at the start of year 2011,
after 9 years of investment,
it would have grown into around 4.55million,
annual compound interest is 18.3%.

That's all for the conclusion of my investment return for year.

Last time after having negative return at year 2014,
I had positive return for the next 4 years,
that's why at first I mentioned that I am not feeling very sad,
especially now shares price of some companies already dropped until quite attractive price.

THUS!
my slogan for year 2020 will be "TO CAREFULLY INVEST WITH CONFIDENT AND BRAVERY"!

Investment is about doing own thinking, making own decision.

Thanks for reading.

I don't provide any buying/selling suggestion above,
please make your own investment decision and be responsible with it.

My investment result for 3rd Quarter 2019

In the blink of eyes,
another 3 months already passed by.

The haze attacked my country at middle of September,
so I decided to stay away from it by being at another country,
until end of September only came back.

Thus,
my investment result article for this time is later than usual.

This year my 9 months return is ROA = -2.14%, ROE = -3.13%,
again I am back to negative return.

Let's have a comparison between my investment portfolio at the start of year 2019 and now:
When year 2019 first started,
this was my investment portfolio:
1) AEONCR (31%)
2) HARTA (21%)
3) LPI (17%)
4) PANAMY (12%)
5) PBBANK (8%)
6) AEON (7%)
7) NESTLE (4%)

After 9 months,
it became like this:
1) HARTA (35%)
2) AEONCR (34%)
3) LPI (16%)
4) AEON (9%)
5) NESTLE (5%)
6) PANAMY (1%)

This time,
my negative return was mainly contributed by AEONCR which dropped from RM16.80 to RM14.90.
(According to the shares price at 1st October.)

Frankly speaking,
I failed to estimate that the new MFRS 9 accounting standard will affect the profitability so much.

Also,
hereby listing down my investment return for the past few years:
2011 : ROE = +28.0%
2012 : ROE = +32.8%
2013 : ROE = +15.0%, ROA = +13.3% (started using SMF)
2014 : ROE =  -12.0%, ROA =  - 8.0%
2015 : ROE = +21.6%, ROA = +13.3%
2016 : ROE = +38.0%, ROA = +22.2%
2017 : ROE = +40.5%, ROA = +24.9%
2018 : ROE = +16.0%, ROA = +13.3%

Only less than 3 months left for this year,
will I be able to turn my negative return back to positive return?

Thanks for reading.

I don't provide any buying/selling suggestion above,
please make your own investment decision and be responsible with it.

My investment result for 1st half of year 2019

In the blink of an eye,
half of year 2019 already passed by.

This year my half year return is ROA = 2.03%, ROE = 2.98%,
even though the return is low,
but at least it turned from negative return into positive return comparing with 3 months ago:
ROA = -2.35%, ROE = -3.44%.

Let's have a comparison between my investment portfolio at the start of year 2019 and now:
When year 2019 first started,
this was my investment portfolio:
1) AEONCR (31%)
2) HARTA (21%)
3) LPI (17%)
4) PANAMY (12%)
5) PBBANK (8%)
6) AEON (7%)
7) NESTLE (4%)

After 6 months,
it became like this:
1) AEONCR (34%)
2) HARTA (30%)
3) LPI (18%)
4) NESTLE (5%)
5) TOPGLOV (5%)
6) AEON (7%)
7) PANAMY (1%)

The main contribution of my return,
is AEONCR which rose from RM15.30 to RM16.80,
sadly that HARTA dropped from RM6.14 to RM5.24,
thus off set most of the returns contributed by AEONCR....

For the past 3 months,
my debt ratio becomes higher since I bought some shares which dropped a lot,
I bought some AEON shares at RM1.53-RM1.54,
also some LPI shares at RM14.96.

Thus,
my debt ratio is quite high now,
I will sell some shares after the financial result is out.

Even though my aim is to invest for long term,
but long term investment with long term high debt ratio,
causing long term mental pressure,
is it really worth it?

Also,
hereby listing down my investment return for the past few years:
2011 : ROE = +28.0%
2012 : ROE = +32.8%
2013 : ROE = +15.0%, ROA = +13.3% (started using SMF)
2014 : ROE =  -12.0%, ROA =  - 8.0%
2015 : ROE = +21.6%, ROA = +13.3%
2016 : ROE = +38.0%, ROA = +22.2%
2017 : ROE = +40.5%, ROA = +24.9%
2018 : ROE = +16.0%, ROA = +13.3%

For this year 2019,
my investment slogan will be "invest with a healthy body".

Previous at February I was admitted into hospital for 5 days due to serious inflammation at certain part of my body,
even though I become a lot better now,
but I still cannot 100% recover.

Almost every month the inflammation will come back,
but luckily it weren't as serious as last time until need to go hospital,
just take a few days of antibiotic medicine then I am okay(?).

After a few strike back of the inflammation,
I realized that I can't touch any cold drink or spicy food at all.

So yeah,
I never tasted the famous bubble tea at SS15 area,
and long time never eat Nasi Lemak already...............

Even though I try my best to eat at home every time,
but sometimes I still have to eat outside.

Sadly that there are a lot of traps for the food outside,
for example a food that they never mention about "spicy" in the advertisement,
even the sauce is white in colour,
but it is actually spicy!!!

Or same food but at different branch,
not spicy at branch A but suddenly become spicy at branch B!

After stepping into all these traps and caused my inflammation to come back,
there are really a lot dangerous food outside,
especially Malaysia where everyone likes spicy food.

So now whenever inflammation is back,
I will take medicine and rest,
then I will work out when my body feels better,
avoid all cold drinks and spicy food,
hopefully to be healthy again.

Just like investment,
it will be a long term battle.

Investment is about doing own thinking, making own decision.

I don't provide any buying/selling suggestion above,
please make your own investment decision and be responsible with it.

My investment return for year 2016

This blog is not only for writing and recording down what is happening now,
but also to review my past investment,
so today I will write down my investment return of year 2016,
which was the 6th year I started to invest.

My investment portfolio at 1st January 2016:
1)AEON
2)AEONCR
3)DLADY
4)NESTLE
5)PANAMY
6)PBBANK
7)LPI

My investment portfolio at 31st December 2016:
1) NESTLE (29%)
2) AEONCR (23%)
3) PANAMY (19%)
4) LPI (19%)
5) PBBANK (6%)
6) DLADY (4%)

My investment return for year 2016: ROA=22.2%, ROE=38.0%.

The return mainly contributed by DLADY which rose from RM47.76 to RM55.56,
PANAMY from RM24.28 to RM30.68,
and AEONCR from RM11.90 to RM14.36.

My investment result was not bad,
and I was able to magnify it until 38% through SMF,
it was quite a fruitful year for me.

I also accumulated a lot of NESTLE shares that year,
sadly that I sold most of it when the shares price gotten near to RM100,
looking at the shares price now which is above RM140.............
I AM IDIOT............

I also sold the last batch of my AEON shares at the price of RM2.70 that year,
looking at the shares price now which is between RM1.40 to RM1.50,
I guess I made a good choice?

Until today,
I finally finished writing my investment return for all the past years.

I made a list of it,
feel free to have a read if you are curious:
https://thecellist-investment.blogspot.com/p/my.html

OF COURSE,
my past investment result is just a reference,
it doesn't guarantee me that I will be able to obtain the same result at the future,
so please don't follow my investment blindly.

Investment is about doing own thinking, making own decision.

My investment return for year 2015

This blog is not only for writing and recording down what is happening now,
but also to review my past investment,
so today I will write down my investment return of year 2015,
which was the 5th year I started to invest.

My investment portfolio at 1st January 2015:
1)AEON
2)AEONCR
3)DLADY
4)NESTLE
5)PANAMY
6)PBBANK
7)LPI

My investment portfolio at 31st December 2015:
1)AEON
2)AEONCR
3)DLADY
4)NESTLE
5)PANAMY
6)PBBANK
7)LPI

My investment return for year 2015: ROA=13.3%, ROE=21.6%.

The return mainly contributed by DLADY which rose from RM42.40 to RM47.76,
PANAMY from RM18.50 to RM24.28,
and LPI from RM18.02 to RM24.12.

My investment return was just okay only,
luckily I used SMF,
so I was able to magnify my return until above 20%.

Because of that,
my net worth again rose to the peak same like during year 2013,
after a struggling year at 2014.

For year 2015,
I mainly accumulated shares of two companies.

1st company is PANAMY which I accumulated between price RM19.90 to RM23.46,
also DLADY between RM45.98 to RM48.50.

According to the shares price,
looks like I earn some money,
HOWEVER.............

Did I have the patience to long term holding it until now?
Did these two companies earned money for me?
Please read <<My investment return for year 2016>> which will be out soon.

Thanks for reading.

I don't provide any buying/selling suggestion above,
please make your own investment decision and be responsible with it.

My investment return for 1st quarter 2019

In the blink of an eye,
a quarter of year 2019 already passed by.

Well yeah....

Since the first 3 months of this year I was fighting with a disease,
no wonder I felt like the time passed so fast.

ANYWAY,
This year my 1st quarter return is ROA = -2.35%, ROE = -3.44%.

Let's have a comparison between my investment portfolio at the start of year 2019 and now:
When year 2019 first started,
this was my investment portfolio:
1) AEONCR (31%)
2) HARTA (21%)
3) LPI (17%)
4) PANAMY (12%)
5) PBBANK (8%)
6) AEON (7%)
7) NESTLE (4%)

After 3 months,
it became like this:
(Please be mentally prepared for the changes.)
1) AEONCR (38%)
2) HARTA (33%)
3) LPI (17%)
4) NESTLE (5%)
5) TOPGLOV (5%)
6) PANAMY (2%)

The negative return was mostly contributed by HARTA which dropped from RM6.14 to RM4.63.
Luckily AEONCR rose from RM15.30 to RM16.80,
if not my negative return will be greater.

You can find out my buying and selling for the past 3 months by comparing my investment portfolio at different timing.

Well,
I sold all AEON and PBBANK shares,
even PANAMY shares I also sold most of it.

This year I kept buying in glove companies only,
TOPGLOV between RM4.75-RM4.49,
and HARTA which I started to accumulate more at the price of RM5.31,
but it kept dropping and dropping,
and my last buying was at last week at the price of RM4.55.

This two glove companies will bring me to heaven or hell??
Only the time will tell.

Also,
hereby listing down my investment return for the past few years:

Last year I had been torture by backache for 2 months,
this year another part of my body had serious inflammation and tortured me for 3 months,
even until I stayed hospital for few days,
(The good thing is my weight reduced by 6kg....)
so this year I only hope to "invest with a healthy body".

Coincidentally this year I kept buying in health care related glove companies~

Investment is about doing own thinking, making own decision.
