Oldtown 2nd Quarter 2018 Financial Report

November is also called as the month of Financial Report,
this is because a lot of public listed companies will release their financial reports in this month.

This month is always mixed with expectations and worries.
As for me,
those companies that I invested didn't pass up a good financial result this month,
so I am quite sad............

However,
there is this one company that released a very good quarter result!

That's right,
it is today's topic: OLDTOWN.

Let's have a look at the quarter result:

Revenue grew by 15%, PBT grew by 25% !!

This good quarter result of Oldtown,
gave me a bit of relief before the end of November.......

As everyone knows,
Oldtown's operation can be divided into two parts:
1) Operation of Cafe Chain - the Oldtown restaurants that we always see it around.
2) Manufacturing of Beverages - yeah, the 3in1 white coffee.

So for the Cafe Chain:
The revenue dropped slightly but the PBT dropped 24%............

Is okay,
I didn't have any expectation at the operation of cafe chain.

The amount of cafe outlets:

Comparing with last year,
the number of outlets in Malaysia reduced by 15 outlets,
while Indonesia opened 4 new outlets, China 2 outlets, Hong Kong 1 outlet and Myanmar 2 outlets.

A small surprise that Oldtown finally started to operate cafe at Hong Kong and Myanmar.

Next,
the manufacturing of beverages:

The growth is just everywhere!

The future plans by management:

It is said that While coffee is in leading market position across Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong markets.

Also,
they expect strong growth from China, Australia, USA, Indonesia and Philippines.

Sounded so confident.........

Last but not least,
dividend proposed:
Interm dividend of 3.0 sen.

The next day after releasing this good quarter result,
share price of Oldtown rose RM0.18,
from RM2.43 to RM2.61.

So here comes the questions,
if don't buy now,
will the business keep growing more and more, profit also grows more and more, share price also rises higher and higher?
If want to buy now,
then when didn't buy it last time when first IPO?

Investment is about doing own thinking, making own decision.

Thanks for reading.

I don't provide any buying/selling suggestion above,
