AEON 2017 Annual Report + 1st quarter 2018 financial report


Today let's have a look at AEON latest annual report.

First,
let's see the 5 years revenue, from right to left:


The revenue grew every year, the chart looked pretty~

Then let's have a look at the 5 years profit, again from right to left,
please don't mistaken the direction!

The profit kept dropping every year,
and finally a little bounced back at year 2017...........

The location of all AEON malls at Malaysia:

Currently only at West Malaysia,
but soon there will be AEON mall at East Malaysia as well~

The amount of AEON mall:


Now the AEON shares price is around RM2,
just buy 1 lot then you are the shareholder of AEON,
which means you own all the AEON mall in Malaysia, sounds fun right?

LOL just joking,
I wasn't encouraging anyone to buy/sell AEON shares.

For year 2017:

ILMM ceased to be subsidiary of AEON and became associate,
form there an impairment loss was recognized,
also the AEON Mahkota Cheras was sold,
one loss one gain.

For property management segment:

There was a 10.5% growth,
and the occupancy rate is 90.9%.

For year 2018,
there will a new mall opening at Kuching, Sawarak,
AEON finally set foot on East Malaysia~


Another mall will be opened at Nilai, Negeri Sembilan at year 2019:


That's all the points that I think is important to take note,
anyway, this is full of my personal opinion and view,
if you really want to invest at AEON,
I strongly suggest you to read the annual report by yourself.

The two main income streams of AEON: Property management & Retailing.

Basically,
the income from Retailing segment was very bad since GST started,
so for this few years AEON relied heavily on rental income,
until year 2017 only things gotten a bit better.

By looking at the financial reports from various consumer companies,
I realized that the revenue of those companies rose,
so maybe.... just maybe that the people willing to consume more again....

But the problem is........
AEON is having lawsuit with WCT,
and this will definitely impact the business of AEON.

Bad news come with good news.

This article was written few days after the annual report was released,
but I kept until the 1st quarter 2018 financial report was released,
then only put all everything into one article.

Improvements were seen,
even the prospects by management:

So confidently saying that the Company expects its performance for year 2018 to improve~

As for AEON Mall Bukit Tinggi,
AEON lost in lawsuit but decided to appeal,
really die die also don't want let go...............

Investment is about doing own thinking, making own decision.
